Production of 500,000 vehicles this year
Iran Khodro plans to produce 500,000 cars this year (March 2020 to March 2021).
Farshad Moghimi, CEO of Iran Khodro Industrial Group, said: "Despite the sanctions that Iranian automotive industry has been facing in recent years, daily production in April this year has increased by 30% compared to the same period last year."
He announced the production and supply of at least 500,000 vehicles this year and said: "We will achieve this goal with the efforts of components manufacturers and employees."
He added that last year, despite the fact that the country's auto industry was at the forefront of US sanctions; Iran Khodro was able to produce and market more than 412,000 vehicles with the least dependence on foreign sources and relying on the ability of domestic specialists and engineers.
"Under these circumstances, we were able to break the record of monthly, weekly and daily production in the second half of 2019 compared to prior 20 months when it was the starting point of the sanctions." He added.
